Cambodia Wins 7 Medals for Karate at Thailand Championship

Phnom Penh, 6th September 2022 - Cambodia won 7 medals for karate at the Thailand Open Karate-DO Championship 2022.

Mr. Dek Phearak, Deputy Secretary General of Cambodia Karate Federation, stresses it is raising Cambodia's expectation of the sport at the SEA Games 2023.

Out of the 7 medals won in Karate, 3 silver and 4 bronze.

The silver medalists for the individual discipline are Mr. Nguon Sokkraileng, Mr. Srieng Virak, and Ms. Chhorn Sreyphea; while the bronze medalists are Ms. Samnang Outtra, Mr. Chrun Virakboth and Mr. Bin Mengly.

The bronze medalists for the team are Ms. Chhorn Sreyphea, Ms. Van Chariya, Ms. Lim Sokvichheka, and Ms. Phuong Sophal.

According to Mr. Dek Phearak, the federation sent 49 Cambodian karate delegates, technical team, arbitrators and athletes to attend the Thailand Open Karate-DO Championship 2022.
